I have always been a little protective of my iPad. Alex wasn’t allowed to touch it for almost 6 months after I got it. Then I slowly let him play a game here or there. In general, I kept it out of his reach and always had a case on it. A few weeks ago I left it on the coffee table. He picked it up and brought it to me in the kitchen. At this point I noticed a long scratch down the front. I took it into the store and was told it was a crack, not a scratch. (This leads me to believe he dropped it, but I didn’t hear it hit the ground.) They also told me they don’t repair, they replace. That would be $250. Ouch. It still functioned fine and although the scratch was annoying, it wasn’t too bad. I told Wade about it and he found a replacement screen online for $50. He installed it tonight and it works. Thank you Wade!!

Organized Sports – Kinda

Alex just made the cut-off for this round of soccer. The session started on Feb. 2 and they let him slide by as a 3 year old. It was pretty much chaos with a big group of 3-6 year olds, but Alex had fun. He tried to listen to the coaches (he called them teachers). The two biggest issues: 1.) They told him to get a drink of water and he got upset we had brought him juice. 2.) At one point they wanted two kids to try to go after the same ball. Alex refused because it wasn’t “his” ball.

We actually switched groups so that he’ll be with Abby next week. That group even meets on a “real” soccer field.

Kids Dinner Out

We met Amy and Darby (and their kids) for a play date and dinner. Somehow I missed the fact that Kids in Motion gets pizza delivered from Glass Nickel Pizza Co. (one of my favorites).

After two jewelers and numerous discussions with our insurance company, I have a brand-new ring (with my original diamond). It looks amazing (and didn’t cost me a thing)!

A Working Kitchen

I finally have a working kitchen again! The part from Delta arrived and my kitchen faucet no longer leaks! Wade also took my dishwasher apart for the third time (poor Wade) and finally found the problem! This small sticker (which doesn’t look at all familiar) was blocking the check valve and causing the small amount of water to not properly drain out of the bottom after a wash cycle.

Pajama Dinner

We were meeting Amy, Asher, and Abby for dinner tonight. Amy told me her kids were wearing pajamas (Asher had pajama day at school and Abby just had a bath) and so Alex wanted to wear them too. Those silly kids were a mess, but loved the macaroni and cheese at Noodles & Company.

Painting With A Purpose

Amy introduced me to “Tour Club” this year. It’s a group of Moms that get together and arrange tours at local businesses. The group is focused on kids aged 3-6 (with younger siblings always welcome). They typically have 10-12 tours a semester and you have to sign up for at least half. We had our first outing today at “Touch of Glaze“. The kids not only got a behind-the-scenes tour, but they got to paint a piece of pottery.

I also painted a plate, but I’m pretty sure Alex’s is going to look better than mine. We’ll see when I pick them up in a few days.
