Toadfrogs and Elephants

One of my favorite baby gifts for Alex is now one of his favorites too. We received this personalized blanket from my mother’s cousins shortly after Alex was born.

The blanket tells Alex’s full name, birthdate, birth weight, birth length, and the names of his mommy and daddy. When I looked at the company’s website, they offer to include all sorts of information on the blanket – sibling names, pet names, baptism information etc. and have five choices of color.

The website is theblanket.com. I can’t wait for someone to have a baby so I can order one!

Alex has been walking/pushing his toy around all day. At some point he looked up and realized we had built a fire in the fireplace:

He was content to sit in front of it for a few minutes:

Abram and Alex are getting to see a lot of each other this week. Amber had to run out and Abram came to play:

We started the day with a trip to Rhyme Time at the library and then an indoor game place with Abram and Amber. The boys quickly figured out skeeball was easier played together:

After a nap in the car and a quick lunch we were off to play time at Gymboree:

Alex got another nap in before we played and waited for Daddy to come home:

There were so many smiles we even managed a few close-ups:

A really laid back one. Alex is still putting everything in his mouth and I haven’t found too much I feel the need to immediately take away:

Note: We don’t encourage chewing on electrical cords and I did remove Alex from it right after the picture. As for the dog toy – it happens a lot. I do frequently send the dog toys through the dishwasher if that makes it any better.

Alex did not wake up a happy boy this morning. Thank goodness a playdate with Julian, Nola, and Abram made for a positive mood change:

Today was a lazy day for all of us. Alex “discovered” a new book in his drawer and read it to Madison:
