I love these trees – especially in fall when the leaves are gone. Anybody know what I am looking at?

Oooh…Leaves
November 7th, 2009Today we raked leaves. I wore Alex in the backpack for part of the time and then we let him play in the leaves:

Pirates Say Aaargh!
November 6th, 2009A nice family picture before Wade and I went out on a date (dinner at Meritage, a little shopping, and bowling).

Sleeping and Eating and Playing
November 5th, 2009Today was a marathon nap day. Alex woke up at 7 am. After a bottle and a little playing he was back in bed at 7:45 and slept till 10. (I also went back to bed and slept till 10.) At 10 am I found a very happy boy:

We went to the YMCA and then had lunch. I let Alex mostly feed himself today. Madison was on cleanup duty.

Then it was time for another nap:

Wade timed coming home with Alex waking up from his third nap of the day. Alex loves to play with Daddy:

Let’s Celebrate
November 4th, 2009Wade’s parents had given us a gift certificate to Rendezvous for our anniversary (in August). We decided we would order the ribs when the bathroom was complete. The ribs come overnighted with dry ice. Alex enjoyed the box:

Baked beans and cornbread rounded out our Southern dinner:

On a side note: While playing on the floor in the office, Alex discovered Wade’s felt donut. I got a kick out of him trying to chew on it:

I Never
November 3rd, 2009As a rule I don’t have the TV on when Alex is in the room. If the TV is on, he quickly zones out and sits like a zombie. Well today I made an exception. Alex was super fussy all day and I finally put in a baby Einstein for him to watch.

Later I realized he has a tooth about to break through. The upper right is so close I can see it, but it hasn’t quite broken the gum. At least now I understand the fussiness.
Where’s Alex
November 2nd, 2009I feel like I didn’t see Alex all day. He still hasn’t adjust to the time change and was up at 6 am. Wade gave him a bottle and then put him back to bed while I slept (thanks Wade!). I got up with him from 7:30-8 and then he took a nap until we were out the door for Mother’s Day Out. He came home from Mother’s Day Out and slept and slept and slept. After five hours worth of napping I had given up on seeing Alex again tonight, but he finally woke up. We fed him and played for a few minutes before putting him back to bed:

I think Madison enjoyed the change of pace and being the center of my attention once again:
