Most of my potted plants have been sitting on the kitchen counter since we moved in February. The majority of those belong in the planter Wade designed for a class. The planter is named Chester and I mentioned more about it here. Chester finally has a home in our new house. He seems to be doing well in the sunroom with my new herb garden in the window.
If you read Wade’s blog, then you might have seen the planter he designed. After four months of being in our house, we finally got it hung in our bedroom. I decided it needed some color so I started looking for red flower pots. (Wade kept insisting it was designed for Terracotta pots.) I have decided, after much searching, that they don’t make red flower pots in the three sizes I need. Then I got the brilliant idea of painting the pots I already had red (yeah, yeah, I know I should have thought of this immediately). Conveniently for me, I always check out the Oops paint at Home Depot and buy the colors I like. Therefore, I had this great red color on hand.
Alex and I have been slugs lately so a trip to the library with the Strouds sounded fun. Alex is a true bookworm and eventually ended up on the couch with a book.
Then Abram showed him how to play a game on Amber’s new iPhone. Thank goodness Alex hasn’t figured out mine will do that too! (Note Abram “patiently” waiting for his turn. I love the look on his face.)
I have mentioned before that I’m not sure time-out is effective at our house (see post here). I was cleaning up the kitchen when Alex appeared with his “Chester“. He said “Chester time-out” and when I followed I found Chester sitting in the green chair. I have no idea what Chester did wrong or why time-out was in Alex’s thoughts, but I found the entire thing hilarious.
Alex’s new best friend – until Abram gets back in town.
Chester is Abram’s guinea pig and we are watching him for the weekend.
Abram and Alex had a fun-filled day. We started with a trip to the park. (Note the nice older boy who held Alex for me on the merry-go-round)
